Lucile Inman Permenter
1925 - 2005

North Myrtle Beach, SC, Lucile Inman Permenter, 80, of 318 50th Avenue, died on November 22, 2005, at her home. She was born April 14, 1925, in the Brooksville section of Horry County, the daughter of the late William O. and Jessie King Inman, and granddaughter of the late Daniel Inman and Louise Clark Inman . She was a 1943 graduate of Wampee-Little River High School and attended Clemson University and the University of South Carolina. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was a member of First Baptist Church, North Myrtle Beach, where she sang in the choir for thirty years. She previously taught Sunday School, GA=s, and was Choir Director at Pleasant Plain Baptist Church, Little River, SC. A local business woman, she was the owner and proprietor of Joyland School of Beauty Culture and also the owner of Art of Beauty Salon in Myrtle Beach. She taught modeling at Horry-Georgetown Technical College and each year held various classes in Education and Cosmetology for continuing education. She was a supporter of the American Heart Association and the Cancer Society and regularly held fund raising events for both organizations. She was the author of Lucy=s Locket, an autobiography of her life and times.

She is survived by her devoted husband of 58 years, Eugene Ralph Permenter, Sr., three loving children: Patricia Permenter Knight, husband Henry, Columbia, SC, son, Eugene Ralph Permenter, Jr., Little River, SC, and son, Dennis Gene Permenter, wife Suzanne, Murrells Inlet, SC; nine grandchildren: April Dunn, husband Charlie, Henry Douglas Knight, III, wife Amy, and Trish Anne Knight, Joshua Permenter, Luke Permenter, Sarah Permenter and Matthew Permenter, Erin Mitchell and Lindsay Mitchell; and two great grandchildren: Andrew Permenter and her name-sake, Lucile ALucy@ Dunn; beloved sisters: Willie Roy, Fresno, CA, Carolyn Finley, husband, Tom, Wilmington, NC; beloved brother James A. Inman, wife Elberta, Little River, SC; and sister-in-laws: Jo Myers, Connie Inman, Cleople Permenter; and brother-in-laws: Jack Permenter, Richard Permenter, Elrich Hickman, and Stan Clark. Twelve nieces and nephews whom she loved very much, and many dear friends. She was predeceased by her brothers: Clyde Leon Inman, Sr., and William H. ABill@ Inman; sisters: Louise Cunningham and Margaret Clark; nephew Clyde Leon Inman, Jr.; and nieces: Barbara Rogers and Paula Perry.

Funeral services will be held at 3:00 pm on November 27, 2005 at First Baptist Church, North Myrtle Beach. Burial will follow at North Myrtle Beach Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be held from 5:00 to 7:00 pm on November 26, 2005 at Goldfinch Funeral Home, Conway, SC
