                                                                            Lucile

                                            She’s a girl I met years ago along with others –
                                            But, as the stars in the sky, she shone a little brighter
                                            Than any student there, because she laughed at bothers
                                            And made the atmosphere much brighter.

                                            The time came when she was no longer a student.
                                            She chose to help and gave uncalled-for hours
                                            To those who wished to become more prudent
                                            She spread joy like sunshine on flowers.

                                            To her, everyone is special – she does her best for all;
                                            Her eyes sparkle, and she wears a beautiful smile,
                                            And by example she teaches the art of standing tall,
                                            Even when she has worked hours and walked many a mile.

                                            Her family – she loves and never overlooks their needs;
                                            Life never passes her by – she grasps it and holds;

                                         Each day she plants sweetness into lives like seed;
                                            Her students she helps and never scolds.

                                            She cannot see her life as it blesses the world –
                                            But like a pebble, thrown into a lake, it will ripple to the end -
                                            And be felt by future generations as it is truly unfurled.
                                            She cannot know, to how many, she has been a friend.

    In her life has been some sorrow and sadness
    But by trials we all can grow,

If like she, we begin each day with gladness,
    And share our love as the soft winds blow.

                                            Life is what we make it – never be misled;
                                            The sweetest roses on thorny bushes grow –
                                            As we share them with others, their fragrance is spread,
                                            And our lives will be richer as we onward go.

                                            Lucile Dear, may each day bring some measure of fulfillment
                                            Toward becoming the person God meant you to be;
                                            May each day be ended with love and contentment,
                                            And look to the morning – God’s greatness to see.
